Tacita Dean
Tacita Dean's work explores the multiple semiosis that arise between what we see and what we hear. According to the artist, the soundtrack of a video can be used to narrate or simply to announce, interpret or reinforce the meaning of a given sequence. Indeed, a lack of sound can determine how an image is read. This catalogue, which accompanied an exhibition encompassing films, sounds works, drawings, texts and photographs, shows the importance of chance, loss and coincidence in the work of the artist.
