Raymond Hains

Raymond Hains, a French artist associated with the New Realism movement, was a key figure in French art from the post-war period. Hains considered himself to be an inventor rather than an artist; and poetically described the world through language, recombining elements and fragments of reality. The street was his studio, and he made use of techniques of his own devising.
