Michelangelo Pistoletto
The work of Pistoletto explicitly rejects the whole idea of painting as a window, the notion of the screen-wall passed down from the Renaissance. In his 'mirror paintings', Oggetti in meno and works made from old clothes, the artist establishes new relationships between the viewer, the object and the notion of time. This catalogue brings together key texts by the author that deepen our understanding of his use of the mirror as an artistic material, among other things.
