When artistic expression extended into the world of sound in the form of the album cover, authors from a variety of artistic trends used them as a format for innovative and high-quality works of art. The typical 30 x 30 cm album cover became a particularly attractive object for an artist. Today, vinyl records have acquired a mythic quality for younger generations and an historical quality for the older veterans. This book includes a detailed cataloguing of the collection of sonorous material from the Archive for Small Press and Communication at the Neues Museum Weserburg in Bremen, which includes vinyl and CDs, as well as books, prints, and other objects related to music and sonorous works.
